Spirits of the Wild
There is a lone whinney that brakes across the empty sky like a dagger cutting through silk. The crow calls and greets the gray morning. The whinney was from the lambrums of a lone equine-creature. Its smooth charcoal tinted wrapping glinted against the slight sunlight that managed to shine through the clouds that hung like banners in the sky. The animals turned its mighty visage to the sky, the atmosphere was humid, smelled of rain. Yes, rain was on its way. It whipped his black-hued flyer and scuffed at the grass with a flint. The powerful being rose onto its hind shanks and let out a call, a call to all those who thought it challenging, who thought it an intruder, who thought it menacing. A smirk played against its velvet kissers, for maybe it was all of these terrible adjectives strung together. But, of course, you had to be to survive in a place such as this. But, don'tunder estimate the warmness any creature can hold within its soul. It sounded another call, a softer call, at the touched its front pillars back to the geography. This time, it called to one who thought it good,. thought it beautiful, thought it worthy enough to be in their company. Yes, yes it had been alone for so long there had to be someone, anyone out there who could show it the meaning of a herd, a family, the meaning of... Love? Oh, that silly little words. It was such a little word for such a big emotion. It seemed to not do it justice. No, no not all. Suddenly, with an erratic burst of speed, the animal sped off into the morning mist, its well-oiled muscling rippling like little waves under its pelt, it slid to a sudden halt as the promised rain began to fall, spattering its coat with darker flecks. It shook its dial, dreds flying wildly, mingling with the falling rain. Is this what it was meant when that word "wild" was uttered from others' lips?
Spirits of the Wild is a realistic horse roleplay site. We have oodles of fun boards where you can go crazy! This site is run by me, and only me. Oh, by the way, my name is Dealias. This site is a good beginner site, but will also entertain intermitiad to advanced players. Remember: Read the rules before play. We are very much in need of active members, so join us! We do not bite. Much.
Our newest member is: fell! Welcome fell and thank you so much for joining!
Member of the Moment: Thunder! My very first member! Thanks for sticking with it through the active and the inactive times.
Honorable Mention: Darkness!
Big Thanks to fell for our side bars, because Dealias is too lazy to go a-searchin' for the code.
Weather: The sun has returned to us. Finally. The days are warming, but the rain is plaguing us. Birds are returning and foals will be born soon. The Crystal Lake is warming and the days are longer. All creatures are rejoicing as winter loosens his hold.

Have some good news to share? Feeling a little down? Saw an amazing moving and you just have to share it? Post here! You can talk about anything you want here. There are even two subboards, one for posts that have gone totally ignored. The other, is for Plot Suggestions. I think you can figure that one out. Come here and talk with other members! Chat it up and have a good time! But please, restrain yourself on cursing and saying mean things about people who could possibly wander onto this site. I tollerate no drama here at Spirits. Thank you!
This is a role play site after all, you have to have characters! And you have set your cursor on the right board. Come here to create your horses, bring them to life! But, don't make millions of posts for all of your characters, just put them under YOUR NAME! its irritating to have to scroll for hours and hours looking for one character, only to get to the end and realize you just passed it on the first page. Thanks!
You follow the laws of your country, right? You don't murder and blackmail people right? And being the upstanding citizen that you are, I am sure that you will follow the rules of this site. But to follow them, you have to know them. So please, come and read!
It sucks you can't make a cable commercial for your site, or that you can't post it all over google. But, you can make a nice little post there on this board and thats as close as you will get to a prime time commercial during the superbowl. GUEST FRIENDLY.
Remember how I said in the board above about upstanding citizens and whatnot? Well, as you are an upstanding citizen, wouldn't you turn in someone for murdering and blackmailing? So, therefor, you would turn in someone here for breaking any of those rules that are oh so important to society right? So please, if you see someone breaking the rules and I don't catch it, tell me. I don't want things going unnoticed here, this site has to be as good as it can be, and a good site doesn't have players that break the rules.
Ugh! You need a new character but you just don't want to make another bio for it. What ever are you to do?! Come here! This is where you can adopt characters that other players have already made. I guess they are just tired of playing that one or need to cut down on their characters. You have to notify me through PM's and inform me of the adoption or there will be consequences.
Everyone occasionally has questions. Whether they be simple questions or complicated practically a paragraph in legnth questions. But whatever your question may be, place it here. But, this board is limited to questions about this site. Post other, random questions in the General Nonsense board. When someone see's your post here and they think that they might know they answer, they will respond! And if no one answers, feel free to PM me!
A beautiful, shining, sparkling lake. It is immensly huge and horses can come here and sometimes not even see another. It is a great place for horses to come and have meetings, because there are secluded places for privacy. During the summer it is obviously the perfect place to come for a refreshing dip. In the coldest of winters, it freezes over. But since it is very deep, it doesn't freeze all the way through, so don't walk on it, you will fall through. And that is fatal, you know.
Fires are evil things. They destory every single thing in their path. And here, in this once beautiful wood, it still destroys. Do not come here if you plan on never having enemies. If you meet another here, which is likely, it is rather small, you will forever hate them. Not dislike, not frown upon, hate. It is the dark magic of fire's in the land of the wild. The trees are still standing, but are blackened and burned down to a stump. There is no grass, just cold ash.
Tulips. Ah, those beautiful flowers. They smell so sweet, don't they? And the grass is so green here! Wow! And everyone you meet can look so happy here. Don't you want to be happy, too? Come here, you cannot walk through this meadow and be in a bad mood, even if you are dark. Come, play, mingle, have a good time!
This is such a sad place. Everyone has sad feelings. And you cannot just bottle them up, you have to let them go out and fly away into the sky. This sky here has no stars because the sky always has a thick cover of clouds over them, blotting them out. Sometimes, you can meet others under these clouds, maybe they can make you feel better, maybe you can be there for them.
Have you ever wanted to go to heaven, but you wanted to be able to return home? Well, that is absolutly impossible. But this place is heaven on Earth. It is beautiful, the most amazing place that a horse could ask for. There are tall weeping willows and beautifully fragrent magnolia trees. There are roses of every color and poppies galore. It truly deserves the name Heaven's Garden.
Where there is a Heaven, there is a Hell. Hell on Earth is this small mountain. It it covered with small caves and his burning, unbearably hot. Most horses cannot survive here, this is where some horses go to die, and where some horses souls go when they die. Those souls become the slaves of the two darkest horses in the land: Lucifer and Anethema.
This is where injured horses come to heal their injuries. The beautiful mare, Aerene, has amazing healing knowledge and will know excatly how to help you. This place is surrounded by tall growing trees encircled by thick vines and big, bright colored flowers. There is a small water fall that flows into a little lagoon, where the healer normally washes and lets horses go for a dip before they depart. The healer is a beautiful mare called:___________ (I need A healer, PM me if you are interested)
Wild horses have never known the restricts of fences and walls. Unless, of course, they have come from here. This farm, whose proper name is Fox Ridge Farms, is gigantic. It houses mares, stallions, geldings, foals, fillies, colts, everything. Many, many breeds, too. Some horses love it here and some hate it. Some escape, some mares are stolen by wild stallions, some are wooed into jumping the fences and galloping off into the wild. Which ever it is, it should be exciting.
Every one needs a little lovin'. And whats better then finding by the sea? While the sea rages below you, your heart rages inside your chest when you find your one true love. But, as you fall in love, be extremely careful not to fall over the cliffs. There wouldn't be time to save you, and the love that you found will go looking for another. And you don't want that, do you?
Oh, gosh. I think my water just broke! I'm kidding! But maybe your about to have a foal, you best hurry on down to the valley and have the foal. All the mares come here, lights, darks, neuterals, and slave mares. They come here to have all of their foals. Some do not survive, some are beautiful little creations to love and cherish. Whatever that little horse may be, this is where it will be born. It is a valley with soft grass and rolling hills. It is a nice place for the foal to open its eyes to.
Stallions need big herds, they need as many mares as they can. But one cannot just wait around for a mare to waltz on in to his territory, bow at his feet, ready to be inducted into the herd. A stallion must go searching, and this is where they should come. It is a big forest with tall, tall trees that make a nice canopy over the ground and makes good shade. It is a nice place, a calm place.
Ugh, you two just aren't a good match. Your other mares cannot get along with her. She does not produce the foals that you hoped she would, she is disobidient and she is rude. She just is not the mare for you. But, you don't want the loss of a mare on your record. Come here, there is bound to be another mare that another stallion does not want, you guys can have a trade! You can have as many special conditions as you want, there be contract signings, even though I'm not sure how you guys would manage that. It is a pine tree forest on the side of a mountain, its a long trek there, but its worth it.
Light stallions come to this pretty little land to keep their mares. It is a sunny open place, a few trees that bear flowers and fruits during warm weather, when it rains, it only spinkles or mists. You know, only the stallion has to be light to keep his mares here. But, stallions and mares usually only go with others of their kind, it wouldn't be good to stick lights and darks in the same herd together.
When sides are formed, there will always be the few who choose not to choose. That is what they call Neuteral. And if you are a Neuteral stag, keep your herd here! It is a forest with small ponds and little streams. It has a variety of trees and underbrush. It is a nice place to live, Remember: Only the stag has to be Neuteral to have his mare's here.
You think lights are pathetic little rainbow chasers and Neuterals should just make up their mind already! You like the dark and decay and death of night. You are dark, you are the darkest of the dark. And this land is exactly that. It is rather swampy and boggy and there is never really much sunlight. Remember, only the stallion has to be dark to have his herd here, and only because you are dark it doesn't mean you are a forcer.
This is a dark, forest with short stubby, almost dead trees. When mares don't want their foal, they just leave it here, and someone will come along and find it. Sometimes, this is where forcers come and find young fillies and train them for their slave herds. There is no protection here on these lands, beware.
This is a beautiful meadow with lightly colored grass and beautiful flowers. The trees always bear sweet smelling fruit and there is a little stream that runs through. Little foals come here to play and meet others to make friends. Mare's usually drop their foals off and come back for them later, or lone foals come here so that they aren't so alone.
This is such a sweet, warm place! And every horse loves apples! If you don't want your foal anymore but you can't bear to leave it at that horrible forest, leave it here! With the sunshine and the apples and the happiness. A lonely mare is bound to come and take over for you.
This is a dark, desolate valley. Normally, valleys are warm, sunny and the grass is green and bright. But not here, not on these horrible lands. The grass is a dead, light brown color, there are a few patches of scrawny trees. But most of the land is open, which favors the forcers. But now, mare, that you have entered here, everything is against you. Remember, you can be bred here against you will.
Forcer stallion, nothing is more secure than a steep mountain side. It is dangerous to gallop down and usually restricts movement. If you think this is the right place to keep your mares, come here. Its got plenty of caves for sleeping. But your territory will be limited, you can only take up so much space on a mountain.
This is a almost-pitch dark forest. They have long, low hanging vines and big tar pits that could suck a grown horse down in a few seconds. And no one will hear you scream, because no one cares in these lands. These forboding lands will keep your mares close to you, if this sounds appealing to you, come here.
This is a large, dark lake. It is always icey cold and the surface never moves. There are legends that monterous sea creatures live in the lake and most are too frightened to go near it. The trees around it are blackened weeping willows and globe willows. It is easy to stalk things in this territory. If this sounds appealing you, keep your mares here.
It is surely a wonder of the wild. It is a tall, but thin falling water fall. It falls over a granite cliff. It is rather humid around there and mist hangs every where. The lake at the bottom is dark blue and the water churns almost violently from the water fall. Its loud and hard to hear. There is a cave behind the water fall, but you can only get there by going to the top of the cliff and walking down a thin rocky ledge that leads to the opening behind the water fall. Now, the reason that it is called Rainbow Waterfall is because in the right light, and at the right time of the day, you can see the rainbow stretch over the peak of the waterfall.
This is a thin, bridge that water hollowed out by an ancient river that used to flow through this area. It is extremely tiny, only one horse can fit across it. Be careful walking across you could fall to your death onto the hard, red-ish earth down below. There are little reptiles that crawl around the rocks to sun themselves in the warm weather.
This is a forest on the edge of the wild horses territory. The trees can reach up to 150 feet in the air and they are amazingly wide around. Some are hollow in the middle and are opened up so horses can walk and stand inside them. In the summer, humans come here with tents and sleep for the night. Horses should avoid those tents, humans only mean trouble.
This is a dense forest of thick, but short pine trees. They are packed in together and most horses must duck their heads just to walk through. Even in the day time it is dark and eeiry. This is where many bobcats stalk, be careful. At night, in the summer, fireflies come out in more than imense numbers and make a blinking light through out the trees.
This cavern is found nestles under a hill, the entrance is rather small but looks are decieving. The Cavern goes on for miles and miles under the ground. There are a few holes in the ground to let light through. There are hugh spikey stalagmites and stalagtites. When there is a full moon at night, the jewels in the rock shine with a one-of-a-kind sheen.
Neauteral herds will reside on these lands. They are well protected and easy to defend. Hard to find sometimes, easy if you know where to look. (Check often)
